Justice for Asbestos Families
The North East Mesothelioma Self help Group are asking you to support a campaign for those affected by fatal asbestos related cancer mesothelioma. This devastating disease has no cure and often sufferers’ die just months following diagnosis. Many are exposed to asbestos while in the workplace and often were never told of the risks they faced.
The group is backing the Justice for Asbestos Families Campaign, which highlights unfairness in the way compensation for bereavement is awarded to families who have lost a relative to mesothelioma.
Your help will make a difference to all those affected by mesothelioma.
Families in England and Wales receive tens of thousands of pounds less in compensation than their counterparts in Scotland.
The Group have taken part in a short film, which features mesothelioma sufferers as well as those who have lost family members to the disease, shows the full extent of the suffering and grief of those affected. They talk frankly about how mesothelioma has devastated their lives.
Members of the Mesothelioma Self Help Group hope their film will encourage MPs to put pressure on the Government.
Please find below the Justice for Asbestos Families Campaign film which was created by mesothelioma sufferers and widows in the North East of England.
After you have watched the film please sign the petition. Hundreds of supporters have already signed on to support the campaign.
