
Strawberry Tea Time in memory of Alan Shepherd.

Jan Shepherd invited family and friends to a scrumptious strawberry tea at her Derbyshire cottage. The event was in memory of a very special person, Alan , Jans husband, who sadly from mesothelioma in 2008.
To make sure the day had a definite strawberry theme, Jan had scoured charity shops for anything with strawberries on. Her sister-in-law made strawberry bunting and Jan found a duvet cover in strawberry material and turned it into table cloths! Poster were put up in the village school, inviting everyone to come along and enjoy!

Jan’s sisters helped by making strawberry hearts for decoration and donated strawberry tea towels. Cakes were baked and the house and garden decorated and guest were entertained by a saxaphone player accompanied by a guitarist. Even the door bell had a strawberry theme! Members of the Derbyshire Asbestos Support Group came along to join in the fun.
The cakes and buns and even a glass of wine was enjoyed and a fantastic time was had by all. The afternoon raise a wonderful £208.50p towards mesothelioma research, Alan would be very proud. Thank you Jan for supporting the work of the M.K. Research Fund.
