Annual Snowdrop Walk

Saturday 13th February 2010

Over fifty people took part in this year’s Snowdrop  Memory Walk  through the stunning gardens of Howick Hall , Alnwick, Northumberland.

A  two minute silence was observed in memory of loved ones before setting off on the walk.

Why don’t you take part in a  Snowdrop Memory Walk in your area ?

Throughout February, a carpet of snowdrops appears across the country, symbolizing  hope and promise for a better future.

Winter gardens in the grounds of Anglesey Abbey in Cambridgshire or the seven acres at Dunham Massey, Altrincham, Manchester whose winding paths and twisting woodland area, have a white blanket at this time of year.

Gatton Park, Isabella Plantation, Kew Gardens, Rousham and Stowe  also have Snowdrop Walks, I’m sure there will be one where you live.

Let us have details of  your walk  to advertise  and don’t forget to send pictures of your event!

In the  stunning gardens of Howick Hall near Alnwick in Northumberland is a large collection of snowdrops mainly planted between the wars by Lady Grey. Many thousands are planted in large drifts throughout the garden and make a wonderful display telling us spring is not far away.
