Dave King 1.2.44 – 9.8.10.
A greatly loved husband, dad and granddad who is missed so much every single day. Sadly Dave died on the 9th August 2010 and his wife Judith and two sons Stephen and Peter have set up this lasting tribute of a very special person in his memory. He was a kind, caring and hard working wonderful man who took his diagnosis with courage and dignity. He fought to stay with us to the end.
Total December 2010: £5,126.63
October 2010:Nottingham Charity Bike Ride. Michael and Jane Carver raised a total of £519.00

August 2010: Dave’s sons, Stephen and Peter took part in the London to Paris Bike Ride in their father’s memory and raised a fantastic £4,607.63
“After learning of our Fathers illness in March 2009 and that it was terminal, our reaction was understandably of complete shock and upset. Also our concern turned to our Mother who would be left a widow at such an early time in their retirement years.

However, our dear Dad held his head high and carried on as normal, fighting the illness with courage and determination, just as we thought! nothing seemed to faze him. Dad battled for 18 months against this horrendous illness before we sadly lost him in August of this year (2010).

He was our strength, a fit and very strong proud man. We miss our lovely Dad hugely every day and words can’t describe the pain of losing him. Two weeks after our Dad passed away, we did something positive. We raised as much money as we posibly could to donate to this appeal, by cycling from London to Paris over 4 grueling days, which we completed and raised £4,607.63
The sun shone bright and beautiful every day and we felt very strong, I think Dad was looking after us!! We look forward to doing another challenge next year, not only just to raise loads of money but to raise awareness of this evil disease that has stolen our Dad.”
We will love and miss you forever Dad. A big bear hug from your sons
Stephen & Peter xx
