March 2011 Total £200
Friday 26th June 2010 will remain a very special date in John’s daughter Sarah’s memory forever ….. the day a childhood dream came true …… the day she sang with ABBA! … well, actually ABBA MAGIC who were absolutely fantastic, and just like the real thing.
It her birthday party ever to celebrate her 40th, and it was fabulous to enjoy it with over 100 friends and family.
Sarah tells us ” A few 1970s memorabilia was mentioned, and a few words mentioned about The World Cup. Thinking about 1970, I’ve a coffee mug in the cupboard that my Dad bought me at a previous milestone birthday, and its illustrates a few 1970 facts ….. brightly coloured Hotpants were out; the skinhead emerges; teenagers develop a new hard fashion look of close cropped hair, Ben Sherman shirts, boots and braces; strikes at highest level since 1926; Sir Laurence Olivier became a life peer; tidal wave devastated East Pakistan, and Hong Kong flu killed 2850 in one week.
Also, special thanks to my neighbours – Tina and Steve for hosting the ‘Guess how many sweets in the jar’ game in memory of my Dad (chocolate minstrels were a favourite of his). This being, in aid of National Mesothelioma Day which takes place onMy Dad loved Abba having particular fondness for Agnetha – the blond one! He would have thought this was a great party! He would enjoyed seeing you all too.
