Dedicate a light on our Christmas tree in memory of someone special…
We would like to invite you to be part of something very special that we organise each year – Light Up a Life. Would you like to dedicate a light on our Christmas tree, in memory of someone special?

The Light up a Life service conducted by the Reverend Pat Craighead, is held at 7.00pm at St Peters Church, Elmwood Road, Monkseaton, Whitley Bay NE25 8EX. Light refreshments available after the service.

Many people tell us that this is a welcome opportunity to reflect back on those they have loved and lost, it is comforting to know that a light shines brightly in memory of their loved ones. Your act of generosity and kindness will help to fund care for others with the incurable cancer, Mesothelioma caused by exposure to asbestos.

Please join us for the service or complete the form and return in the post. We will acknowledge your donation and help you to honour the people you have chosen to remember by:-

MKMRF held it’s third Memories Service at St Peter’s Church in Monkseaton, Whitley Bay on 8th December 2009.
Reverend Canon Jim Robertson conducted a moving service, during which the Christmas Memory Tree was lite.
People were invited to hang their own particular message on the tree and by the end of December hundreds were hanging from the tree. Readings were given by Fund’s patron Ian McFall and Founder Chris Knighton.
Light refreshments were available after the service, courtesy of Brenda Conboye and dedication cards and Memorial Book was available at St Peters Church throughout December.

This year the Mesothelioma Memory tree supported St Peter’s Christmas Tree Festival. Many of the local schools and groups had taken part, including one themed Christmas Down Under, the tree was displayed upside down and beautifully decorated! Others included Christmas Wishes for Children and the World,Heavenly Host, Sing Choir of Angels and one from Bygate Women’s Institute themed Sweets.
Although not a Fundraising event a total of £152.2 was raised. Grateful thanks to everyone who helped gave their support
