Each year the person who raises the most sponsorship receives a prize. A Gift Voucher for a meal at the Grand Hotel in Tynemouth was presented to Geoff Wind who raised a staggerring £1,810.00!

Lung Run 2009
In June hundreds of runners took part in the 2009 Family Lung Run through Rising Sun Country Park in Newcastle insupport of the Mick Knighton Mesothelioma Research Fund.

Veteran Lung Run runner, Harry Maddocks won the under 16’s 5k run, Max Johnston second place and Ryan Dobson took third…

The 5k Adult Run was gamely won by Tim Haywood, Kris Gate and Alan O’Brien was second and third respectively.
Lung Cancer Nurse, Peter Fenwick and Physiotherapist Sonia Connors both from North Tyneside General Hospital raised a whopping £830 sponsorship between them and became joint winners for raising the most money. Both will receive 3months free membership at Sylver-link Gym, Newcastle upon Tyne.
