Pam's Story
Alice Wright of York was only 9years old when she lost her beloved godmother, Pam Reid to mesothelioma on Boxing Day 2004.
Alice was devastated, and young as she was became aware of the lack of adequate funding for research into the disease. She wanted to help provide improved treatment, care and support available to sufferers in the future.
Alice and Pam had shared a love of the outdoors, walking and nature and decided to organise a 20mile sponsored walk and was to walk all 20 miles herself!
Alice achieved her amazing goal and raised in her godmother’s memory £500 which she donated to the Mick Knighton Mesothelioma Research Fund.
The MKMRF are extremely grateful to Alice and appreciate her hard work and determination to complete her aim.
