  • To all intents and purposes Alan was extremely fit ay the start of 2005. Although 72 years old he looked younger and enjoyed regular excercise. In January 2005 we swam in the sea while on holiday in Gran Canaria; in mid-February we did a walk in the Peak District involving a steep hill and Alan coped better than I did despite the fact that I am 13 years younger. Then, in the second week in March, Alan developed what seemed like bronchitis. Read more.
  • My father passed away August 22nd 2005 of a disease; we could only just pronounce Mesothelioma. After 5years of complaining of being short of breath and a year of not feeling good, being treated for ailments such as TB! He was diagnosed with Meso on his 74th birthday. 10 weeks later he was gone leaving a gaping hole in our hearts and my mother a widow after 55 years. Read more.
  • David Craig was born in Jarrow on 10th May 1947 to Margaret and Harry. He had an older sister, Stella and a younger brother, Raymond. Dave had a happy enough childhood, and went to school at Jarrow Central. He loved listening to Johnny Duncan, watching Flash Gordon and collecting toy cars. He took up one of his main passions in his life, cycling, at the age of eleven. Around this time began another great passion, his love of Newcastle United. Dave started to take cycling seriously whilst at North Tyneside College and was pretty good – so he used to tell me. Read more.

  • In December 1999, my husband and I were walking home from a game of lawn bowls when I became aware of his shortness of breath.   • I met Pete 5 years ago after I had been going through a bad time following the death of my first husband – he invited me, my 5 young children and crazy dog for a holiday at his home in Wales. We all got on so well from the moment we met and shortly fell madly in love – the children loved him as much as I did – he was such a fun loving person – the following year we married and had the perfect family. We moved to Bury St Edmonds and spent 35 very happy years together.
